Our History

Novyc began operations in Quebec in Canada in June 1985 and has concentrated its activities in the design, engineering and manufacturing of electronic price & display systems for the petroleum industry.

In 1986, Novyc introduced a new 7-segment display module using high-torque motorized mechanisms specially designed to overcome the limitations and failures of low duty cycle applications, such as gas price signs. With state of the art electronics and software, the Novyc display systems have proven to be the most reliable on the market.

In October 1992, backed by many years of system innovations & improvements as well as feedback from the technical service department, Novyc began the development of a NEW Price technology using printed mylar (scroll systems). This system, introduced in 1993 offered the following features & benefits as compared to conventional electronic display systems: improved aesthetics, unlimited choice of colors and fonts to match corporate image requirements.

Novyc display products are specified and utilised by major petroleum companies across North America, such as Shell, Petro Canada, Sunoco, Ultramar, Valero, Esso (Exxon) and B.P. Today Novyc has installed over 10,000 scroll price systems in cities in North America where extreme weather conditions serve as an ongoing testimonial to product quality and durability.

Novyc continues to invest in product development and R&D. A new family of price & display systems has been completed, using LED technology, as well as a new, compact retrofit scroll system for manual track conversions. These developments ensure that all customers have products that respond to their needs.
